Hi, I'm Alex, the owner of GALAXSAW Handyman Services. After working as a commercial carpenter on large-scale construction projects—including a new Nike facility in Beaverton—I discovered that I enjoy the personal side of construction: helping homeowners, landlords, and local businesses with smaller projects that need attention and quality workmanship.

Today, I provide reliable handyman services throughout the Portland metro area. I specialize in small residential and commercial projects that many larger contractors don't take on, including repairs and installations that can typically be completed in four hours or less. My experience includes electrical and plumbing fixture replacements, PEX-A and PEX-B plumbing work, door lock and hardware installation, door jamb repairs, and many other home maintenance and repair services.

I am proud to be part of the Home Depot Pro Services contractor network and have completed projects for local organizations, including Reynolds School District. I am licensed, bonded, and insured through the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB #233510).

Whether you are a homeowner, landlord, or property manager, my goal is simple: provide dependable service, clear communication, and quality repairs you can trust.

Thank you for visiting GALAXSAW Handyman Services. I look forward to helping with your next project.

Mobile Window Screen Repair & Replacement | Prices at The Bottom

A torn, damaged, or missing window screen doesn't necessarily mean you need to replace the entire window. In many cases, the existing screen can be repaired or the screen mesh can be replaced while keeping the original frame. GALAXSAW provides window screen repair, screen mesh replacement, and complete window screen replacement for residential customers throughout Portland, Oregon and the surrounding metro area.

Whether you have a small hole in the screen, torn mesh, damaged spline, or a screen frame that is no longer usable, we can evaluate the condition of the screen and determine the most practical repair or replacement option.

Screen Repair & Mesh Replacement

If the existing screen frame is still in good condition, there is often no reason to replace the entire screen. We can reuse the original frame and replace the damaged screen mesh, including replacing the spline that holds the mesh in the frame when necessary.

This can be a good option when the frame is straight, fits the window properly, and the primary problem is a torn window screen, screen hole, damaged mesh, or deteriorated spline. Repairing the existing frame can keep the cost lower than having an entirely new screen made.

If only a small area of the mesh is damaged, a screen patch may sometimes be possible. However, patching is not always the best long-term solution. Depending on the size and location of the damage and the condition of the surrounding mesh, replacing the entire screen mesh may provide a cleaner and more durable result.

New Window Screen With a New Frame

When the original frame is bent, damaged, missing, or otherwise unsuitable for reuse, a new screen with a replacement frame may be the better option.

A new frame allows the screen to be rebuilt rather than trying to repair a frame that has already lost its shape or strength. This can also be useful when a homeowner has a window that is missing its original screen and needs a replacement.

Before replacing a frame, the available opening and existing window configuration should be considered to make sure the replacement screen fits and operates correctly.

Window Screen Spline Replacement

The spline is the flexible material that holds the screen mesh inside the frame. Over time, spline can become brittle, loose, damaged, or difficult to reuse. If the mesh needs to be replaced, the existing spline may also need to be replaced depending on its condition and compatibility with the screen frame.

A screen that looks like it only needs new mesh can sometimes require additional attention once the old material and spline are removed. We will use the appropriate repair or replacement approach based on the condition of the screen.

Door Screen Repair

Door screens generally experience more wear than window screens because they are opened, closed, touched, and moved much more frequently. Torn mesh, damaged frames, loose spline, and other problems can eventually make a screen door difficult to use or leave openings for insects.

GALAXSAW also provides screen door repair and screen replacement. Door screen work is priced separately from window screens because of the additional size and work involved.

Window Screen Repair Rates

Our pricing is structured around whether we can reuse your existing frame or whether a new frame is needed:

First window screen — $120

Each additional window screen with a new frame — $80

Each additional window screen using the original frame — $60

Door screen repair — additional $60

The first-screen price includes the service setup and initial work involved with the appointment. Multiple screens can be more economical because additional screens can be completed during the same visit.

If you have several damaged screens, let us know how many need attention when requesting service. Photos of the screens and frames can also be helpful when determining which repair option is likely to be appropriate.

Do You Need a New Screen or Just New Mesh?

You don't necessarily need to know the answer before contacting us. If you're unsure whether your screen needs a simple repair, new mesh, a new spline, or a completely new frame, send us a few photos and we can help determine what information is needed before scheduling.

In general, a good frame with damaged mesh may only need to be rescreened, while a bent, broken, badly deteriorated, or missing frame may call for a complete screen replacement.

GALAXSAW provides window screen repair and replacement for homeowners throughout Portland, Oregon and the Portland metro area.
